Job summary

ING Hubs Philippines seeks a Java Engineer to design, develop, and support modern backend services powering critical banking applications. You’ll work across the full software delivery lifecycle—from development and testing to deployment and production support.

You will leverage Java 17/21, Spring Boot, microservices, and PostgreSQL in a global enterprise setting. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable APIs and robust backend systems, while embracing CI/CD with Azure

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in Java development.
• Experience with Java 17 and/or Java 21.
• Strong knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and microservices architecture.
• Experience developing REST APIs and backend services.
• Strong understanding of OOP, design patterns, and clean coding principles.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, including SQL development and performance optimization.
• Experience working with Git-based source control systems.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, including repositories, pipelines, and deployment workflows.
• Understanding of CI/CD practices and DevOps ways of working.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Working closely with product owners, architects, DevOps engineers, quality engineers, and fellow developers, you’ll help deliver solutions that support ING's mission of empowering people to stay a step ahead in life and in business.
