The Qualifications We Seek
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field preferred
- 2+ years of relevant experience in server operations, systems administration, technical support, or a related IT role, including at least 1 year of hands‑on Tier 1 technical support
- Hands‑on technical support for deployed Windows Server and SQL Server environments strongly preferred
- Practical experience with server implementation/setup, hardware replacement or upgrades, migrations, and application troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of Windows Server administration, including services, permissions, storage, updates, system configuration, and troubleshooting
- Experience supporting SQL Server, including installation, configuration, upgrades, database files, connectivity, and application/database issues; SSRS experience is an advantage
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, networking, and remote‑access troubleshooting
- Strong troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis skills across server, application, hardware, connectivity, and network issues
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with confidence handling significant customer phone interactions and supporting non‑technical users
- Ability to independently manage multiple tickets and priorities in high‑volume environments, with strong technical documentation skills
- Familiarity with ITSM/ticketing systems, remote‑access tools, RMM and monitoring platforms, diagnostic tools, and Microsoft Teams
- Ability to support scheduled after‑hours maintenance, migrations, projects, and emergency incidents while following security and data‑handling procedures
- Preferred: CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or similar certifications; Azure/AWS; PowerShell; SQL Server high availability, including Availability Groups, log shipping, or replication; and business‑critical production support experience
Your Daily Tasks
- Investigate and restore service across Windows, SQL, network, hardware, and application infrastructure issues
- Support SQL environments across connectivity, availability, backups, replication, performance, and service continuity
- Administer Windows environments across services, permissions, policies, storage, updates, and other core system components
- Use remote monitoring, system logs, performance data, and diagnostic utilities to isolate faults and determine corrective action
- Deliver planned infrastructure changes such as server replacements, platform migrations, operating system upgrades, and SQL version upgrades across cloud and on‑premises environments
- Help maintain resilient environments through backup validation, failover readiness, replication, log shipping, Availability Groups, and disaster recovery checks
- Resolve infrastructure issues involving DNS, firewalls, remote access, and general network communication
- Carry out patching, maintenance, cutover, validation, and rollback activities in line with approved change procedures
- Review monitoring alerts and system health indicators, prioritize incidents, and intervene before issues escalated
- Coordinate technical work with customers, engineers, database specialists, and vendors while keeping stakeholders informed throughout resolution
- Escalate unresolved or high‑complexity incidents with complete evidence, diagnostics, and context for efficient next‑level support
- Capture troubleshooting findings, technical changes, outcomes, and reusable knowledge within support and documentation systems
