The Qualifications We Seek
- High school diploma or equivalent; degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field preferred
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, ITIL, or equivalent technical certification is an advantage
- 3-5 years of system administration, server support, or IT operations experience with hands-on Windows Server and SQL Server infrastructure expertise
- At least 1 year of experience leading, supervising, or mentoring a technical support or server operations team
- Proven expertise in Windows Server deployment, configuration, administration, upgrades, migrations, replacements, and troubleshooting
- Practical SQL Server experience covering installation, configuration, upgrades, database file management, support, and high-availability technologies such as Availability Groups, log shipping, or replication
- Experience with application servers, ticket queues, SLAs, technical escalations, and incident resolution
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, and remote-access troubleshooting
- Ability to combine hands-on system administration with technical leadership, coaching, team development, and escalation management
- Exposure to Azure, AWS, PowerShell, RMM platforms, enterprise monitoring tools, and ITSM workflows preferred
- Experience leading remote teams and supporting KPIs, quality assurance, or knowledge-management practices is an advantage
- Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, ticketing systems, remote-access solutions, monitoring platforms, and diagnostic tools
- Sound judgment, strong security and data-handling practices, and flexibility for after-hours, weekend, or on-call support when required
- Ability to perform effectively during high-volume support periods and extended computer- and phone-based work
Your Daily Tasks
- Lead resolution of complex Windows Server, SQL Server, network, and application server issues
- Oversee server setup, configuration, patching, upgrades, replacements, migrations, and ongoing administration
- Manage daily support operations across ticket queues, workloads, schedules, staffing coverage, and service priorities
- Monitor SLAs, ticket aging, queue performance, and resolution targets to maintain service standards
- Own technical escalations through resolution and collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and senior technical resources
- Coach and develop technical team members through onboarding, mentoring, feedback, performance discussions, and goal setting
- Support staffing, scheduling, resource allocation, and coverage requirements
- Review technical cases and service interactions for accuracy, completeness, and quality
- Coordinate after-hours maintenance, migrations, technical activities, and critical incident support when required
- Identify recurring issues and process gaps to improve efficiency and accelerate resolution
- Maintain runbooks, knowledge articles, technical documentation, and standard operating procedures
- Track and report team KPIs, SLA performance, operational trends, and service metrics
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, PCI DSS, SOC 2, information security, privacy, access control, and data-handling requirements
- Use ticketing systems, monitoring platforms, communication tools, and remote-access solutions to support technical operations
