Job summary

NMDC Dredging & Marine is seeking a Stores Supervisor to manage the Stores Department, ensuring efficient receipt, inspection, storage, and dispatch of materials for dredging and marine projects. You will coordinate with QC and client inspections, maintain ERP documentation, and oversee stock checks in compliance with HSE policies.

The role requires 5+ years in stores/warehouse within dredging or marine environments, strong inventory control, and familiarity with ERP processes.

Qualifications

• Secondary School Certificate with a discipline-specific technical qualification or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in stores/warehouse roles.
• Experience in dredging and marine industries is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Stores Department.
• Receive materials and offload at designated locations.
• Inspect materials against documentation; report non-conformities.
• Mark materials with tags; supervise stacking, binning, and preservation.
• Forward documentation for entry into ERP.
• Arrange materials for QC and client inspections as per RFI requirements.
• Process approved demand vouchers by issuing materials and coordinating dispatch.
• Receive and inspect returned materials for reconciliation.
• Prepare reports; conduct stock checks and reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and company safety procedures.
• Use PPE and report hazards or regulatory violations.

Job description

• Ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Stores Department in accordance with company policies, procedures, and HSE requirements.
• Receive materials and ensure they are offloaded at the designated locations.
• Inspect materials against relevant documentation, including specifications and test certificates, and report any non-conformities such as damage, incorrect deliveries, shortages, or oversupplies.
• Mark materials with appropriate identification tags and supervise stacking, binning, and preservation activities in line with vendor recommendations and client specifications.
• Forward completed documentation for entry into the ERP system.
• Arrange materials for QC and client inspections as per RFI requirements.
• Process approved demand vouchers by issuing materials and coordinating their dispatch.
• Receive and inspect returned materials for reconciliation purposes.
• Prepare reports as required.
• Conduct regular stock checks and reconciliations, including at project completion.
• Ensure compliance with all HSE regulations and company safety procedures.
• Use appropriate tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling materials.
• Report any workplace hazards, unsafe conditions, or regulatory violations to the supervisor.
• Refrain from removing, bypassing, or rendering ineffective any protective devices required by the company or regulatory authorities.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Secondary School Certificate with a discipline-specific technical qualification or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar industry.
• Previous experience in the dredging and marine industry is highly preferred.
• Good knowledge of material handling, inventory control, and warehouse operations.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory management processes is an advantage.
