Job summary

NMDC Dredging & Marine coordinates and monitors the transport, delivery, and movement of materials and equipment for marine projects. The role plans local and international shipments, liaises with suppliers and authorities, and tracks status to ensure timely delivery and regulatory compliance.

Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced maritime environment. Knowledge of ERP systems and Excel is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in logistics, supply chain, business administration, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant logistics, supply chain, or transportation operations experience.
• Experience coordinating local and international shipments and customs clearance.
• Strong knowledge of logistics planning, inventory control, and transportation management.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and logistics management software.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor transportation, delivery, and movement of materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Plan and arrange local and international shipments, including shipping and customs documentation.
• Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs authorities, and internal departments.
• Track shipments and provide updates on delivery status and delays.
• Coordinate mobilization and demobilization of project materials, equipment, and personnel.
• Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with Stores for stock control.
• Verify shipping documents, delivery notes, packing lists, and invoices.
• Evaluate logistics service providers for cost-effective, reliable services.
• Identify and resolve logistics bottlenecks to minimize disruptions.
• Prepare logistics reports, schedules, and performance metrics.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, transport requirements, and company standards.
• Maintain records of shipments and transportation costs.
• Report workplace hazards or regulatory violations; adhere to HSE regulations.

• Ensure all logistics activities are carried out efficiently and in compliance with company policies, procedures, and HSE requirements.
• Plan and arrange local and international shipments, including preparation of shipping and customs documentation.
• Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs authorities, and internal departments to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
• Track shipments and provide regular updates on delivery status, potential delays, and logistics-related issues.
• Coordinate mobilization and demobilization of project materials, equipment, and personnel as required.
• Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with Stores personnel to ensure material availability and proper stock control.
• Verify shipping documents, delivery notes, packing lists, and invoices for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist in evaluating logistics service providers and freight contractors to ensure cost-effective and reliable services.
• Identify and resolve logistics bottlenecks to minimize operational disruptions.
• Prepare logistics reports, shipment schedules, and performance metrics as required.
• Ensure compliance with applicable customs regulations, transportation requirements, and company standards.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, transportation costs, and logistics activities.
• Report any workplace hazards, unsafe conditions, or regulatory violations to the supervisor.
• Adhere to all HSE regulations and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation operations within the marine, dredging, construction, or heavy industrial sectors.
• Experience in coordinating local and international shipments, customs clearance, and freight forwarding activities.
• Good knowledge of logistics planning, inventory control, and transportation management.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and logistics management software.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in the dredging and marine industry is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and reporting tools.
