Job summary

SmartOutsourcing Solution is seeking a Payroll Specialist to lead end-to-end payroll operations for EOR services across Philippines, Hong Kong, Australia, and more, coordinating with Sprout HRIS, QuickBooks Online and payment platforms. You will oversee payroll associates and ensure regulatory compliance with DOLE, BIR, and other authorities.

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or related field.
• 4–6 years of end-to-end payroll processing with supervisory experience.
• Proven expertise in Sprout HRIS and QuickBooks Online.
• Strong knowledge of DOLE, BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG regulations.
• Experience managing payroll across multiple countries (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end payroll runs across multiple entities using Sprout HRIS.
• Validate payroll data (attendance, overtime, bonuses, deductions) for regulatory compliance.
• Oversee statutory deductions and benefits (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, withholding tax).

About the role

The Payroll Specialist will lead and manage the end-to-end payroll operations for SmartOutsourcing Solution's Employer of Record (EOR) services across multiple countries, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and full compliance with local and international regulations. This role acts as the primary payroll lead within the Finance & Compliance team, overseeing payroll associates, validating multi-country disbursements, ensuring accurate statutory filings, and coordinating payroll integration with accounting systems such as Sprout HRIS, QuickBooks Online, and BPI payroll. The Payroll Specialist will also support continuous process improvement, automation, and system integration initiatives across Sprout, Airwallex, and Wise to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, review, and approval of payroll runs across multiple entities (Philippines, Hong Kong, Australia, etc.) using Sprout HRIS

• Validate all payroll data, including attendance, overtime, bonuses, and deductions, ensuring compliance with DOLE and BIR regulations

• Oversee statutory deductions (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, withholding tax), 13th-month pay, and other mandated benefits

• Ensure timely remittance and filing of all statutory reports and payments

• Supervise Payroll Associates to ensure consistency and accuracy across all EOR payrolls

• Integrate payroll data with QuickBooks Online for accurate expense recording and reconciliation

• Prepare and review payroll journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations for payroll-related accounts

• Manage regional payroll operations and ensure consistency in policies and reporting across jurisdictions

• Drive automation projects between Sprout, QuickBooks, Airwallex, and Wise for seamless data flow and reconciliation

• Provide training and mentorship to Payroll Associates

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field

• Minimum 4–6 years of experience in end-to-end payroll processing, including team supervision

• Proven expertise in Sprout HRIS and BPI Online Payroll systems

• Strong understanding of DOLE, BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG regulations

• Experience managing payroll across multiple countries (preferred)

• Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and payroll-to-accounting integrations

• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills for reporting and reconciliation

• Excellent English communication skills, with a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail
