Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field is required.
• 3–5 years of hands-on payroll experience in the Philippines.
• Proven experience running end-to-end payroll manually with robust spreadsheet computations.
• Hands-on experience operating Sprout Payroll for day-to-day payroll processing, maintenance, and reporting.
• In-depth knowledge of Philippine payroll compliance, including Labor Code, TRAIN Law withholding taxes, and remittances.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 100% accurate, compliant, and on-time payroll processing across all pay runs using Sprout Payroll and verified spreadsheets.
• Maintain full statutory and tax compliance with BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG; ensure timely remittances and year-end filings.
• Reconcile payroll figures with the GL, journals, and month-end close for audit readiness.
• Drive process efficiencies and explore automation/AI opportunities in payroll and finance workflows.

This role

As our Payroll Specialist, you’ll be working with the Finance and Payroll team and will be instrumental in shaping end-to-end payroll operations, tax, and statutory compliance for our Philippine employees.

Your Key Focus Areas Will Be

• Delivering 100% accurate, compliant, and on-time payroll processing across all pay runs using both Sprout Payroll and verified spreadsheet computation workbooks.
• Maintaining full statutory and tax compliance across all Philippine government bodies (BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG), including timely remittances, reporting, and year-end filings.
• Reconciling payroll figures seamlessly with the general ledger, journal entries, and month-end close to ensure audit readiness.
• Driving process efficiencies and exploring automation/AI opportunities across payroll and finance workflows.

This Will Include

• Processing semi-monthly/monthly payroll end to end (inputs, calculations, payment files, payslips, final pay, and salary adjustments).
• Computing earnings, deductions, overtime, night differential, holiday pay, leave conversions, allowances, and 13th-month pay.
• Managing BIR requirements, withholding taxes, annual alphalist, and BIR Form 2316 issuance, alongside SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG remittances.
• Configuring and maintaining pay runs, pay components, employee records, and payroll reporting in Sprout Payroll.
• Maintaining manual payroll computation workbooks to independently audit system outputs and ensure business continuity.
• Preparing payroll journal entries, reconciling payroll with the general ledger, and supporting month-end close and audits.
• Resolving employee and manager payroll inquiries promptly while keeping up-to-date with Philippine labor and tax regulations.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, with 3–5 years of hands‑on payroll experience in the Philippines.
• Proven experience running payroll end to end manually with robust spreadsheet computation and verification skills (advanced Excel/Google Sheets functions, pivot tables, and formula-driven templates).
• Hands‑on experience operating Sprout Payroll for day‑to‑day payroll processing, record maintenance, and reporting (implementation/data migration experience is a plus).
• In‑depth knowledge of Philippine payroll compliance, including the Labor Code, TRAIN Law withholding tax regulations, and statutory remittances/filings.
• Solid finance and accounting fundamentals, including accruals, payroll journal entries, and balance sheet/GL reconciliations.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, and discretion skills when handling confidential compensation data, with an interest or background in utilizing AI/automation tools to enhance workflows.
• Professional certification/progress toward one (CPA not required) and prior experience in fast‑growing, multi‑entity setups or handling payroll audits/inquiries (preferred).
