Job summary

hammerjack is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to own payroll accuracy and government compliance for our Philippines team. You will work with the Senior HR Manager and Delivery Ops to ensure precise payslips, on-time remittances, and clear employee communication.

The role requires 2–4 years in payroll/HR operations, strong knowledge of Philippine statutory requirements, and comfort with Sprout/HRIS. Hybrid work in Makati with Australian client alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field is required.
• 2–4 years of payroll processing, HR operations, or compliance experience.
• Hands-on experience with Philippine statutory compliance (BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, DOLE).
• Experience with end-to-end payroll cycles; Sprout/HRIS familiarity is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Run payroll end-to-end and ensure accuracy of attendance, overtime, leaves, allowances, and deductions using Sprout.
• Keep compliance audit-ready by timely remittance of taxes and contributions to BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG.
• Respond to employee payroll questions clearly and resolve discrepancies professionally.
• Partner with HR leadership to conduct regular payroll audits and identify compliance gaps.
• Improve payroll workflows and troubleshoot system issues to strengthen processes.
• Monitor attendance trends and share payroll insights with Delivery Ops after each payout.

Keep payroll precise and compliance on track. We’re looking for a detail-driven HR Compliance Officer to own payroll accuracy and government compliance for our team. If you know Philippine labor law inside out, love getting the numbers exactly right, and can explain payroll matters in plain language, you’ll fit right in.

Work Setup: Hybrid - 3x a week onsite in Makati Office

Role Overview

As our Senior Payroll Specialist, you’ll be the person who makes sure every payslip is accurate, every government remittance goes out on time, and every employee who has a payroll question gets a clear, quick answer. You’ll work closely with the Senior HR Manager and Delivery Ops team to keep payroll, attendance, and compliance running smoothly—and to flag issues before they become problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Run Payroll End to End: Validate attendance, overtime, leave, allowances, and deductions while computing salaries accurately using Sprout.

• Keep Compliance Audit-Ready: Prepare and remit statutory contributions and taxes to BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG on time.

• Support Employees Clearly: Respond to payroll questions about payslips, deductions, and contributions, resolving discrepancies professionally.

• Catch Issues Early: Partner with the Senior HR Manager and HR Officer on regular payroll audits to identify discrepancies and compliance gaps.

• Improve Payroll Workflows: Troubleshoot payroll system issues and help strengthen payroll processes and automation.

• Monitor Attendance Trends: Review log-in/log-out activity, overtime approvals, and attendance patterns, then share useful payroll insights with Delivery Ops after every payout.

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

• 2–4 years of experience in payroll processing, HR operations, or compliance.

• Hands‑on experience with Philippine statutory compliance, including BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and DOLE regulations.

• Experience with end-to-end payroll cycles; familiarity with Sprout or a similar payroll/HRIS platform is a strong plus.

• Strong Excel skills, including formulas, reconciliation, data validation, and reporting.

• Working knowledge of the Data Privacy Act (RA 10173) and sound judgment handling confidential employee data.

• Clear, patient communication skills, with the analytical rigor to catch issues others may miss.

• Comfortable owning multiple payroll cycles under tight deadlines without losing accuracy.

• Resourceful, proactive, and confident in making sound decisions independently.

• A strong sense of urgency and a clear understanding of how critical payroll delivery is to employees.
