Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services Philippines invites an experienced Software Asset Management professional to lead the SAM lifecycle, from procurement to retirement, across on-prem and SaaS licenses. The role emphasizes governance, audits, and cost optimization within a complex licensing environment.

You will implement license governance, drive audits, optimize spend, maintain CMDB integrations, and provide strategic advisory to stakeholders on licensing models and vendor negotiations.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of experience in SAM/ITAM/License Management or IT Operations.
• Experience handling Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, SAP, Adobe, VMware, and SaaS licensing environments.
• Strong experience in software audits, compliance management, and vendor negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end SAM lifecycle: acquisition, deployment, utilization, renewal, retirement.
• Maintain centralized license inventory integrated with CMDB and asset systems.
• Perform regular license reconciliations between installations, procurement, and entitlement data.
• Monitor license compliance and adherence to licensing agreements and regulations.
• Identify and remediate compliance risks, unauthorized installations, and over/underutilized licenses.
• Provide L2/L3 operational support for software incidents and changes.
• Coordinate with publishers and vendors to resolve licensing issues and escalations.
• Monitor license consumption, configuration drift, and application health via dashboards.
• Generate utilization, compliance, audit-readiness, and optimization reports.
• Plan patching, upgrades, and hotfixes with change management processes.
• Maintain patch records, rollback plans, and audit trails for software changes.
• Manage SaaS subscriptions, upgrades, entitlement validations, and user communications.

• Experience handling Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, SAP, Adobe, VMware, and SaaS licensing environments.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end Software Asset Management (SAM) lifecycle, including software acquisition, deployment, utilization, maintenance, renewal, and retirement.
• Maintain an accurate and centralized software license inventory integrated with the CMDB and asset management systems.
• Perform regular software license reconciliation between installed software, procurement records, and entitlement data.
• Monitor software license compliance and ensure adherence to vendor licensing agreements, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and remediate software compliance risks, unauthorized installations, over-deployment, and underutilized licenses.
• Provide L2/L3 operational support for software-related incidents, including issue triage, configuration changes, log analysis, and hotfix deployment.
• Coordinate with software publishers, OEMs, and vendors to resolve licensing issues, product defects, and complex technical escalations.
• Monitor software performance, license consumption, configuration drift, and application health through dashboards and automated monitoring tools.
• Generate periodic software utilization, compliance, audit-readiness, and optimization reports for management review.
• Analyze software usage trends and recommend cost-saving opportunities through license optimization, re-harvesting, and rightsizing initiatives.
• Plan, coordinate, and support software patching, upgrades, updates, and hotfix implementations in accordance with change management processes.
• Maintain patch compliance records, test results, rollback plans, and audit trails for all software changes and major releases.
• Manage SaaS application subscriptions, vendor-driven upgrades, entitlement validations, and user-impact communications.
• Coordinate software procurement, contract renewals, maintenance agreements, and vendor audit activities with Procurement and Vendor Management teams.
• Maintain software entitlement records and ensure eligibility for vendor-provided upgrades, support, maintenance, and subscription benefits.
• Establish and enforce software governance processes, approval workflows, version control standards, and license management policies.
• Support internal and external software audits by providing accurate license inventories, compliance evidence, and contractual documentation.
• Coordinate software decommissioning activities, including license reclamation, credential removal, dependency analysis, and CMDB updates.
• Drive automation initiatives through software discovery tools, compliance engines, SAM tools, and CMDB integrations to improve operational efficiency.
• Provide strategic advisory services to stakeholders on software licensing models, vendor negotiations, compliance risks, budget planning, and software asset optimization.
