We seek a skilled Server Engineer with expertise in both Linux and Windows server environments, along with experience in VMware and AHV, to join our team. As a Server Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and securing our server infrastructure to ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability across diverse platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of both Linux (must have) and Windows operating systems, networking protocols, virtualization technologies, and server hardware.
Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Linux and Windows server infrastructure to support business-critical applications and services.
Monitor server performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize performance and ensure high availability.
Troubleshoot and resolve server-related issues, including hardware failures, software glitches, and performance degradation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and implement server upgrades, migrations, and capacity expansions.
Implement and maintain security measures to protect server infrastructure from cyber threats and unauthorized access.
Automate routine tasks and processes using scripting languages (e.g. Bash, PowerShell) and configuration management tools.
Document system configurations, procedures, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in server engineering and incorporate them into the infrastructure design and maintenance process.
Diploma or higher in IT-related area.
Minimum of5 years of working experience in IT-related field.
Proven experience as a Server Engineer or Systems Administrator, with a focus on Linux-based and Windows-based environments.
In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat) and Windows Server operating systems, including installation, configuration, and administration.
Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Certificate services).
Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies, including VMware and AHV.
Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid cloud architectures.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex server issues in a timely manner.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment with a good command of the English language.
Industry certifications such as RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer), MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert), NCP (Nutanix Certified Professional or VCP (VMware Certified Professional).
Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., ELK Stack).
Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and web servers (e.g., IIS, Apache, Nginx).
Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with configuration management databases (e.g., CMDB) and version control systems (e.g., Git) and Terraform.
