Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in IT-related field required.
• Minimum 5 years IT-related work experience.
• Proven Server Engineer or SysAdmin experience in Linux and Windows environments.
• Deep knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS/Red Hat) and Windows Server OS.
• Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, certificates).
• Hands-on with VMware and AHV virtualization.
• Familiar with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud) and hybrid cloud.
• Excellent problem-solving and timely troubleshooting abilities.
• Good English communication and teamwork skills.

As a member of the Regional IS Services Team, the incumbent will handle various supporting and troubleshooting roles within the Asia Pacific region.

We seek a skilled Server Engineer with expertise in both Linux and Windows server environments, along with experience in VMware and AHV, to join our team. As a Server Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and securing our server infrastructure to ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability across diverse platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of both Linux (must have) and Windows operating systems, networking protocols, virtualization technologies, and server hardware.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Linux and Windows server infrastructure to support business-critical applications and services.

• Monitor server performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize performance and ensure high availability.

• Troubleshoot and resolve server-related issues, including hardware failures, software glitches, and performance degradation.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and implement server upgrades, migrations, and capacity expansions.

• Implement and maintain security measures to protect server infrastructure from cyber threats and unauthorized access.

• Automate routine tasks and processes using scripting languages (e.g. Bash, PowerShell) and configuration management tools.

• Document system configurations, procedures, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards.

• Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in server engineering and incorporate them into the infrastructure design and maintenance process.
  

Educational Background and Work Qualifications:

• Diploma or higher in IT-related area.

• Minimum of5 years of working experience in IT-related field.

• Proven experience as a Server Engineer or Systems Administrator, with a focus on Linux-based and Windows-based environments.

• In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat) and Windows Server operating systems, including installation, configuration, and administration.

• Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Certificate services).

• Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies, including VMware and AHV.

• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid cloud architectures.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex server issues in a timely manner.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment with a good command of the English language.

• Industry certifications such as RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer), MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert), NCP (Nutanix Certified Professional or VCP (VMware Certified Professional).

• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., ELK Stack).

• Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and web servers (e.g., IIS, Apache, Nginx).

• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with configuration management databases (e.g., CMDB) and version control systems (e.g., Git) and Terraform.
