Responsibilities

  • Ensure payrolls are processed on time and accurately per schedule.
  • Serve as in-house SME/Super User of Kronos and assist payroll/HR on queries.
  • Act as in-house SME of Affinity; develop pay elements and improve processes.
  • Update employee master file and leave entitlements in Affinity according to instructions.
  • Process payments and resolve queries for Inpat and Expat staff.
  • Respond to employee inquiries within 24 hours with timely resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and business controls for all transactions.
  • Maintain data integrity and compliance with industrial instruments (e.g., EBA/CWA/Modern Award).
  • Provide punctual reporting on Workers’ Comp, Expat/Inpat payments, Leave Provisions and Labour Costings.
  • Promote health, safety, and welfare of employees.
  • Assist National Payroll Manager, Payroll Officers, and Payroll Accountant to meet goals.
  • Maintain compliance and assist with audits.

Job description

Overview

The role will be primarily based in our new BGC office and requires on-site attendance of 12 to 14 days per month. The position follows a 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM work schedule. Ensuring the accurate and timely processing of Australian and New Zealand wages in accordance with statutory legislation, relevant industrial agreements, company policies and procedures and other contractual requirements. Support the management team by providing accurate and timely reports with analysis to identify trends and other notable items. This role also provides a high level of customer service to all employees for general payroll queries.


Responsibilities


  • Ensure allocated Payrolls are processed on time and in an accurate manner, ensuring compliance with the relevant Payroll Processing Schedule and Task List.

  • Act as an in-house SME/Super User of Kronos and support payroll/HR teams on ad-hoc queries and issue resolution.

  • Act as in-house SME/Super User of Affinity. Be heavily involved in creation and testing of new pay elements, upskilling of other team members and development of more efficient processes.

  • Updating and maintaining the employee master file and leave entitlements in Affinity in accordance with legislation and written instructions received by Human Resources.

  • Ability to process payments and resolve queries for both Inpat and Expat staff

  • Enquires and requests from all employees are responded to with acknowledge within 24 hours and are actioned in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies/procedures and business controls to ensure all transactions are processed correctly, saved electronically and have been properly authorised before payment.

  • Maintaining data integrity and compliance to industrial instruments (e.g. EBA/CWA/Modern Award).

  • Provide punctual reporting to the HR and Finance functions regarding Workers Compensation, Expat/Inpat payments, Leave Provisions and Labour Costings

  • Demonstrate and exercise a commitment to promote, develop and improve the health, safety, and welfare of our people.

  • Provide assistance to the National Payroll Manager, Payroll Officers, and Payroll Accountant in order to archive the departments operational and strategic goals.

  • Compliance and Reporting- Maintain compliance with internal policies and legislation and reporting requirements.

  • Participate in Bi-annual audits and corporate audits by providing required documentation to auditors.


Qualifications


  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a large and complex Multinational payroll environment, preferably FMCG or other manufacturing environment.

  • Prior working experience with the Affinity (Payroll System) and Kronos (Time and Attendance system) preferred.

  • Proven ability to deliver an end-to-end Payroll process.

  • Experience interpreting multiple Enterprise Bargaining Agreements

  • High attention to detail in own work and as a checker/auditor

  • Great time management skills with the ability to work to moving deadlines.

  • Sound level of super, tax and payroll legislative knowledge.

  • Demonstrated analytical skills and strong Excel skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

  • Pro-active skills to identify, analyse and resolve issues.

  • Exceptional customer service skills with exceptional written and verbal skills and ability to interact with employees at all levels.
