We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer / Payroll Accountant to join our growing Shared Services team based in Manila. This role will be responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of end-to-end payroll services for employees across Australia and New Zealand as a start. The successful candidate will possess strong payroll processing expertise, sound accounting knowledge, and a thorough understanding of Australian and New Zealand payroll legislation and compliance requirements. In addition to payroll processing, the role will support payroll accounting, reconciliations, compliance reporting, entitlement management, and labour cost analysis. The role will also play a key role in payroll system implementation projects, supporting payroll transformation initiatives and ensuring the successful transition to new payroll platforms across the APAC region. Process end-to-end payroll for Australian and New Zealand employees on fortnightly payroll cycles
Validate payroll inputs including new hires, terminations, salary changes, allowances, deductions, bonuses and leave transactions
Ensure payrolls are processed accurately and within established deadlines
Maintain payroll master data and employee records
Manage payroll queries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Process final pays, redundancy payments and termination calculations in accordance with legislation
Prepare and process payroll-related statutory payments and filings
Reconcile payroll clearing accounts, payroll liabilities, leave provisions, superannuation, PAYG and other payroll-related balance sheet accounts
Calculate and prepare monthly entitlement accruals including annual leave, personal/sick leave, long service leave and other employee benefit provisions
Analyse labour costs and payroll trends and prepare wage cost reports and variance analysis
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Commerce or related discipline
Minimum 3 years of end-to-end payroll processing experience
Minimum 1 year of Australian payroll experience
Working knowledge of New Zealand payroll legislation and processing requirements
Experience preparing payroll journals, reconciliations and accruals
Experience supporting payroll audits and compliance activities
Experience using payroll software in a high-volume environment
Strong payroll system administration capability
Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
