Job summary

VBP is seeking a Payroll Specialist to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for Australian clients, collaborating with Finance and maintaining a payroll knowledge base.

The role requires a BS in a related field, at least five years of payroll experience, and strong analytical and communication skills. Work schedule Mon-Fri, Cebu City office with training and benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary contact for payroll system inquiries.
  • Triaging and prioritizing payroll support requests.
  • Compile precise monthly payroll reports in line with local compliance and needs.
  • Handle complex payroll matters such as leave, LSL, and exits.
  • Maintain accruals system accuracy.
  • Stay updated on Australian payroll changes.
  • Collaborate with Finance and related teams for accurate payroll prep.
  • Assist in building a payroll knowledge base.

Job description

Overview of the Role

The Payroll Specialist ensures accurate and timely payroll processing, handles complex payroll matters, and stays up to date with Australian payroll regulations. They collaborate with Finance teams and help maintain a payroll knowledge base to support process improvements.

Main Duties
  • Serve as the primary support contact for payroll system inquiries
  • Efficiently triage and prioritize payroll support
  • Compile exact monthly payroll reports in line with local compliance mandates and organizational needs
  • Attend to complex payroll matters, such as leave calculations, LSL and exit calculations where team members move on from the business
  • Ensuring accuracy within relevant accruals systems
  • Keep an updated knowledge of Australian payroll changes (we will support this with access to relevant ongoing CPE)
  • Partner with Finance Business Partners and their relevant teams in ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of payroll
  • Assist in the development of a payroll knowledge base
Qualifications & Experience
  • A graduate of BS Business Administration, Finance, Management Accounting, and other related courses
  • With a minimum 5 years experience in Payroll specialist role working with Australian clients
  • In-depth knowledge of the complete payroll lifecycle and relevant Australian legislation
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, coupled with the capability to efficiently manage and prioritize issues
  • Keen attention to detail and a dedication to generating accurate and timely reports
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience in delivering user-centric training and support for payroll systems would be an advantage
  • Adaptable to a fast-paced and ever-evolving work setting, with a customer-friendly attitude
