General Responsibilities

• Ability to engineer complex, multi-tiered distributed software systems


• Design, implement, test and document / diagram software solutions for technical and business requirements


• Collaborate with (and often lead) cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and software engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.


• Leverage broad technical and industry experience to actively contribute to company high level targets not just by direct execution/implementation but also guiding and growing subordinates and peers.


• Contribute to the design and architecture of software systems, taking into consideration factors like scalability, reliability, and maintainability.


• Adhere to industry regulations around data security, privacy, and compliance.


• Actively participate in Agile/Scrum development process, including grooming sessions, sprint planning, and daily standups.


• Keep up-to-date on industry trends and emerging technologies, and suggest improvements to development processes and practices.


• Encourage and guide teams in adopting AI tools to streamline operations and enhance performance.


• Evaluate new AI technologies to boost productivity or innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).


• Mastery of at least one backend language: Node.js, Python, or Go.


• Mastery of databases and ORM.


• Mastery of at least 1 software development framework like Express (Node), FastAPI (Python), or Gorilla/Mux (Go).


• Strong understanding of fundamental software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.


• Able to leverage know-how to make engineering decisions weighing pros and cons on both a technical and product/business level.


• Strong problem solving and debugging skills.


• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, often in a position of leadership.


• Maturity to teach and grow subordinates and peers to navigate complex engineering problems.


• Perform effectively in a multitasking environment with minimal supervision.
