Job summary

Black & White Engineering is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to deliver mission-critical electrical design for data centre projects. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, ensure compliance with relevant standards, and support client relationships and business growth across APAC with international exposure.

You will mentor junior engineers, prepare design calculations and reports, and coordinate with clients and external teams to achieve project objectives.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Chartered status or membership with Engineers Australia, CIBSE, IET or similar
• Proven experience in electrical building services design for consulting engineering
• Experience delivering mission-critical/data centre projects
• Solid understanding of LV/HV power distribution, UPS, generators
• Knowledge of Australian Standards, NCC and relevant electrical codes
• Proficiency with design tools AutoCAD, Revit, Cymap, ETAP/PowerCAD
• Experience producing design calculations, specifications and technical reports
• Strong stakeholder management and multidisciplinary coordination skills

Job description

Are you an experienced electrical engineer ready to deliver mission-critical design across high-impact data centre projects? Then this role is for you.

As Senior Electrical Engineer, reporting to the Associate Director, you will provide sound technical design support within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring project requirements and client specifications are fully met. You’ll work on high-profile data centre and mission-critical projects, as part of a growing APAC team with genuine international exposure, strong development opportunities and a competitive package to match.

Technical design and delivery

You will compile specifications, drawings and contract documents to meet client and project requirements, maintaining the technical quality of your work and ensuring designs comply with relevant codes, standards and regulations. You will provide electrical engineering design services for buildings and infrastructure, identifying scope and schedule changes and maintaining planning and cost control.

You will contribute as part of a multidisciplinary design team, providing technical support to ensure successful preparation and delivery of project objectives. You will liaise with clients and external design teams as needed for successful project delivery.

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• Chartered status, or membership with Engineers Australia, CIBSE, IET or a similar professional body, is preferred.
• Proven experience in electrical building services design within a consulting engineering environment.
• Strong experience delivering mission-critical and/or data centre projects.
• Solid understanding of LV/HV power distribution, UPS systems, generators and critical electrical infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of Australian Standards, the National Construction Code (NCC), and relevant electrical codes and regulations.
• Proficiency with industry-standard design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Cymap, ETAP or PowerCAD.
• Experience producing design calculations, specifications and technical reports.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
