Job summary

SM Retail, Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager, Credit to oversee the end-to-end payments acquiring ecosystem and EFT operations for the SM Retail Group.

The position drives strategic partner relationships and commercial negotiations while ensuring a high-performing operation and support team across physical and digital channels. The role leads complex negotiations on MDR, terminal fees, and compliant merchant contracts, and ensures 100% payment readiness for store events through EFT POS deployment

Qualifications

• At least 10–12 years in merchant acquiring, payments, fintech, PSPs or gateway solutions.
• Minimum 5 years in a leadership role managing teams and external partners.
• Proven experience handling acquiring bank relationships and commercial negotiations.
• Experience in EFT POS, payment acceptance, and eCommerce solutions.
• Preferred: acquiring banks, PSPs, fintechs, and payment gateway providers.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary relationship owner for acquiring banks, PSPs, PayFacs and other partners for scalable payment acceptance across physical and digital channels.
• Lead complex negotiations for Merchant Discount Rates, terminal fees, and merchant contracts.
• Oversee EFT POS Terminal and E‑commerce infrastructure and operations.
• Coordinate deployment, accreditation and management of EFT POS terminals for store events and openings.
• Drive payment gateway integration and digital wallet expansions across channels.
• Direct EMS support to enforce service standards and resolve incidents swiftly.
• Enforce SLAs with internal and external teams to preserve transaction continuity.
• Coordinate card testing and production rollouts for high-quality operations.
• Lead cross-functional reviews and renewal of merchant/service contracts with Legal and Finance.
• Manage, mentor and drive performance metrics for Assistant Managers and Supervisors.
• Foster culture of continuous improvement and high service quality.
