Job summary

SM Retail Inc. is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee end-to-end accounting activities, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain compliant tax practices. The role partners with business stakeholders to translate financial data into insights and drive improvements in internal controls.

You will lead closures, review statements, and coordinate with auditors, while supporting budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making. Strong ERP and Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy required.
• CPA certification required.
• At least four (4) years of solid accounting experience.
• Strong experience in end-to-end accounting and financial reporting.
• Working knowledge of Philippine tax regulations, BIR compliance, and audit requirements.
• Ability to analyze financial results and provide actionable recommendations.
• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end accounting activities and ensure accuracy of financial records.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings and reporting.
• Review financial statements, reconciliations, schedules and movements.
• Analyze results to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure timely submission of financial reports to management.
