Job summary

ING Hubs Philippines is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to evolve HALO, our in-house platform used across ING. You will design, develop, test, and support modern enterprise applications with emphasis on security, stability, and performance.

In an Agile environment, you’ll collaborate with product stakeholders, platform teams, and engineers to deliver scalable, cloud-native microservices and robust integrations. A strong focus on DevOps and operational excellence is expected.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering or application development experience.
• Strong Java application development background.
• Experience in complex enterprise environments.
• Understanding of SDLC, coding standards, and IT risk controls.
• Experience supporting production systems and incident management.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and enhance enterprise-grade Java applications.
• Develop and maintain Spring Boot microservices on Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Contribute to platform modernization and migration initiatives.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Java Engineer to join our team and help evolve our in-house developed platform, HALO, a critical service used by multiple applications and teams across ING.

You’ll play a key role in designing, developing, testing, enhancing, and supporting modern enterprise applications while ensuring security, stability, performance, and operational excellence. Working within an agile environment, you'll collaborate with engineers, product stakeholders, and platform teams to deliver innovative solutions that drive business value.

Required Experience

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering or application development.
• Strong background in Java application development.
• Experience working in complex enterprise environments.
• Understanding of SDLC, coding standards, and IT risk controls.
