Optum is seeking an experienced AI/ML Engineer to design, architect, and deliver scalable AI solutions for enterprise initiatives. You will build NLP, RAG, OCR, and ML applications, deploying models across Azure, AWS, and GCP, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative AI-powered outcomes.

The role includes mentoring junior engineers and contributing to architecture reviews while ensuring secure, scalable, and highly available AI systems.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of AI/ML engineering experience.
• 3+ years hands-on experience in NLP.
• 2+ years of RAG experience.
• 3+ years deploying ML models on cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP).
• 3+ years using cloud-native AI/ML services (Azure ML, SageMaker, GCP AI Platform).
• Performance monitoring experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, architect, and deliver scalable AI/ML solutions supporting enterprise business initiatives.
• Deploy and manage AI models across cloud environments.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Support, and Business teams to develop AI-powered solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design reviews and code quality standards.
• Drive modernization through AI automation and intelligent document processing.
