Job summary

Armanino LLP in the Philippines is seeking an experienced accounting professional to manage fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and asset management processes. The role supports internal and external audits, ensures GAAP compliance, and drives accuracy in financial reporting.

Collaboration with management and cross-functional teams is essential to identify process improvements. The position requires a 4-year degree and CPA/CMA is preferred, with experience in ERP and ASC 360

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree required; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Adept knowledge of ASC 360.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high level specialist support and advice to management and staff on fixed asset accounting processes and asset management systems.
  • Manage fixed asset accounting activities including acquisition, capitalization, disposal, impairment, revaluation, and depreciation.
  • Assist in internal and external audits by preparing fixed asset roll forwards and reconciliations.
  • Perform monthly depreciation projections and asset rollforward; reconcile sub-ledger to general ledger.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high level specialist support and advice to management and staff in relation to the development and maintenance of fixed asset accounting processes, asset management systems, and fixed asset registers.
  • Management of fixed asset accounting activities including the processing of all accounting entries associated with acquisition, capitalization, disposal, impairment, revaluation, and depreciation of fixed assets in compliance with the capital policy and procedures at Alterra Mountain Company.
  • Prepare for and assist in the execution of internal and external audits by preparing fixed asset roll forwards, CIP reconciliations, and various other audit requests.
  • Complete monthly depreciation projections, fixed assets rollforward (including reconciling all fixed assets sub ledger accounts to the related general ledger accounts as applicable) and reconciliation of asset additions to cash flow.
  • Proactively identify risks and opportunities for improvements within Fixed Assets processes and recommend solutions.
  • Review journal entries and ensure appropriate supporting documentation is included with those entries.
  • Perform and review internal capital labor entries across the various Alterra entities including cross-border, foreign currency activity.
  • Actively coach and mentor less experienced staff, and assist the Accounting Manager with staff workflow, priority setting, and development.
  • Analyze transaction detail to ensure that capital expenditure entries meet established criteria, analyze sales/use tax postings, and prepare related journal entries in order to maintain the accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Assist team members in resolving month-end close related issues as they arise and elevate issues as necessary to management.
  • Take initiative to investigate reconciling items, or discrepancies and contact the appropriate individuals to gather information in order to propose and implement solutions.
  • Document and ensure that effective internal controls are developed and performed, ensuring compliance with SOX requirements.
  • Perform variance analyses, identify, and resolve unusual variances through investigation and communication with resort personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • 4-year degree required; advanced degree preferred CPA or CMA preferred 4 or more years of accounting related experience.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • Must possess an in-depth working knowledge of GAAP, month-end close processes, general and operational accounting, budgeting, and forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Adept knowledge of ASC 360.
  • Proficient with ERP systems.
  • Working knowledge of D365 and OneStream a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to effectively interact with all levels throughout the organization.
  • Success at building relationships and collaborating cross-functionally across the organization.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, and able to work under minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to independently resolve issues and recommend process improvements.
  • Team player that will approach challenges in a high-pressure environment with enthusiasm.
