Job summary

ECLARO is seeking an experienced Commercial Property Underwriter in the Philippines to manage new and renewal accounts, pricing and binding risks, and communicate terms with wholesale brokers. You will apply COPE knowledge, ISO/AAIS forms, and utilize underwriting tools for risk evaluation.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in underwriting, strong analytical skills, and a track record of mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in commercial property underwriting, preferably in MGA, E&S carrier, or wholesale-focused env.
• Ability to independently price, quote, and bind commercial property risks.
• Strong understanding of COPE, valuation, loss drivers, and coverage structures.
• Familiarity with ISO/AAIS commercial property forms.
• Experience with underwriting workbenches and rating platforms.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal commercial property business within authority and guidelines.
• Evaluate COPE, loss history, valuation, inspections, and third-party data.
• Determine pricing, deductibles, limits, terms, and coverage structures.
• Manage accounts through rate, quote, bind, endorsement, and renewal processes.
• Communicate underwriting requirements and coverage terms with wholesale brokers.
• Review and apply ISO, AAIS, and manuscript property forms and endorsements.
• Utilize underwriting tools including risk data and AI-assisted tools.
• Monitor portfolio performance and emerging underwriting issues.
• Mentor junior staff and support consistent underwriting documentation.
• Contribute to guidelines, product development, and process improvements.
