Job summary

Arup is seeking a Climate Risk & Resilience Associate Principal to shape the future of climate resilience across Southeast Asia. The role leads Climate Risk, Adaptation and Resilience services, driving strategy, delivery and business development across government, transport, energy, water and property sectors.

Based in Manila or another SEA hub, you will guide multi-country projects, nurture client relationships, and mentor teams to deliver high-impact outcomes in APAC markets.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required with 15+ years’ experience in climate risk assessment, resilience strategy and adaptation planning, preferably in Asia.
• Technical expertise in climate risk and adaptation strategies for infrastructure and/or urban planning.
• Proven leadership in managing complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-country projects.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience in business development, proposal leadership, and client management.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and strategic thinking skills with the ability to influence at senior levels across diverse cultural contexts.
• Demonstrated experience in building and growing a team to expand the Resilience & Adaptation service across SEA.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow Arup’s Climate Adaptation and Resilience services in Southeast Asia, including business development, project delivery, client relationships and team development.
• Build and manage a robust client portfolio to ensure a strong project pipeline and help shape bids and proposals; take responsibility for commercial outcomes and growth targets.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients and stakeholders, representing Arup in high-level meetings, partnerships and international forums.
• Lead a diverse team across SEA, shaping methodologies and applying climate risk tools to client projects.
• Drive social value and meaningful impact through climate resilience work for governments and major infrastructure programs.
