IES Builders and Development Corp. is seeking a Sales Engineer to handle client coordination, negotiate sales, prepare quotations, and close opportunities in the Philippines.

The Sales Engineer is primarily responsible for client coordination, sales negotiation, quotation preparation, and closing sales opportunities. The position handles client inquiries, discusses technical and commercial requirements, negotiates pricing and terms, and prepares quotations and Sales P.O. requirements. The Sales Engineer collaborates closely with the Project Engineer for project and technical requirements and with Procurement for material canvassing, supplier pricing, availability, and purchasing requirements.
1. Client Negotiation & Sales
Lead discussions and negotiations with clients regarding pricing, quotations, payment terms, delivery schedules, specifications, and other commercial requirements.
Meet with clients to understand their project requirements and provide appropriate technical and commercial solutions.
Negotiate with clients to achieve mutually acceptable pricing and terms while maintaining company objectives.
Follow up on submitted quotations and actively pursue pending sales opportunities.
Build and maintain professional relationships with existing and potential clients.
Handle client inquiries and concerns throughout the quotation and sales process.
2. Quotation & Canvassing
Prepare accurate and competitive sales quotations based on client and project requirements.
Conduct material price canvassing and inquiries based on required specifications.
Monitor supplier prices, material availability, lead times, and delivery schedules.
Collaborate with Procurement regarding supplier quotations, material availability, and pricing.
Ensure quotations are properly reviewed before submission to clients.
3. Project Engineer Coordination
Collaborate with the Project Engineer regarding project specifications, drawings, material requirements, quantities, and technical concerns.
Coordinate with the Project Engineer to ensure that quotations are based on the correct technical requirements.
Clarify technical requirements with the Project Engineer before presenting proposals or quotations to clients.
Coordinate project-related client requirements with the Project Engineer when technical confirmation is needed.
4. Procurement Collaboration
Collaborate with Procurement for material canvassing, supplier quotations, availability, lead times, and delivery requirements.
Request and compare supplier pricing for materials required in client quotations.
Coordinate material availability and pricing updates with Procurement before finalizing quotations.
Coordinate approved sales requirements with Procurement for purchasing and order processing.
5. Sales P.O. & Order Processing
Prepare and process Sales Purchase Orders (P.O.) based on approved quotations and client requirements.
Ensure that sales orders accurately reflect agreed pricing, specifications, quantities, and delivery terms.
Coordinate with the Project Engineer and Procurement to ensure proper fulfillment of confirmed sales orders.
6. Mechanical & Food & Beverage Industry Knowledge
Maintain working knowledge of mechanical materials commonly used in the food and beverage industry, particularly:
Stainless steel pipes and tubing
Sanitary tubing and fittings
Stainless steel fittings
Valves
Flanges and clamps
Pumps and related mechanical equipment
Other food-grade mechanical materials
7. Sales Reporting
Prepare regular sales reports covering quotations, client inquiries, negotiations, sales orders, and pending opportunities.
Monitor quotation status, including submitted, pending, negotiated, and approved quotations.
Maintain records of client negotiations, pricing inquiries, and sales activities.
Submit regular sales updates to management.
Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related engineering field.
Experience in technical sales, engineering sales, construction, fabrication, or the food and beverage industry is an advantage.
Knowledge of stainless steel materials, pipes, tubing, valves, fittings, and other mechanical materials.
Strong client negotiation, communication, presentation, and sales skills.
Ability to confidently discuss pricing, terms, and project requirements with clients.
Familiarity with engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Organized, proactive, results-oriented, and capable of managing multiple quotations and client requirements.
