Overview
The Sales Assistant will support the sales team by assisting with administrative tasks, customer interactions, and inventory management to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the sales process. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Customer Service
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer customer queries and provide product information.
- Resolve customer complaints or issues promptly and effectively.
- Sales Support
- Assist the sales team with preparing sales materials, presentations, and quotes.
- Track sales leads and follow up on potential sales.
- Help maintain and update customer databases.
- Inventory Management
- Assist with stock replenishment and organization of sales floor displays.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs to the management team.
- Help with receiving and organizing deliveries.
- Administrative Duties
- Handle order processing, invoicing, and filing.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions and sales data.
- Provide general office support, including answering phone calls and emails.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (mandatory).
- Associate’s Degree in business, marketing, or related fields (preferred but not always required).
- Additional certifications in sales, customer service, or relevant software (e.g., CRM systems) may be beneficial.
Experience & Skills
- Previous experience in retail, customer service, or a sales support role is often preferred but not always required.
- Experience with inventory management or point-of-sale systems may be advantageous.
- Familiarity with sales reporting tools or CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Customer-focused attitude with the ability to provide great service, resolve complaints, and build relationships.
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate order processing and inventory management.
- Time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Basic computer skills (MS Office Suite, email, data entry) and familiarity with office equipment (e.g., printers, phones).
- Problem-solving skills to handle customer inquiries or sales challenges.
- Ability to work in a team and collaborate effectively with other sales staff or departments.
- Organizational skills for keeping sales records and managing inventory.
