Job Description
The Sales Account Manager (SAM) is a critical, multi‑faceted role responsible for driving B2B revenue growth through the entire sales lifecycle—from strategic business development and client acquisition to long‑term client success management. The SAM will also manage, coach, and develop a small team of sales professionals, ensuring performance targets are met and high standards of client engagement are maintained. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in strategic B2B sales, leadership, and proactive client relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve ambitious sales targets and expand the company's B2B market presence.
- Identify, prospect, and qualify new business opportunities and leads within target industries through cold‑calling, networking, industry events, and digital outreach.
- Lead the entire sales process, including presenting proposals, negotiating contracts, and closing complex B2B deals.
- Manage, mentor, and motivate a team of sales and/or business development representatives.
- Assign territories, set performance metrics, and track team progress against KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration between the sales team and other internal departments (e.g., Marketing, Product, and Operations).
Business Development & Strategy
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and new opportunities to inform the overarching business development strategy.
- Collaborate with marketing to create targeted campaigns and sales collateral that address specific pain points of B2B clients.
- Represent the company at key industry conferences and networking events to build brand awareness and generate high‑value leads.
Client Success Management
- Serve as the primary relationship owner for key accounts post‑sale, ensuring a smooth transition and exceptional service delivery.
- Proactively monitor client satisfaction and act as an internal advocate to resolve complex issues and ensure long‑term retention.
- Identify opportunities for account expansion, upselling, and cross‑selling additional products or services to existing clients.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in B2B sales, account management, or business development, preferably within the Pharmaceutical, HR, and Real‑Estate industries.
- 2+ years of experience managing, coaching, or leading a sales team with demonstrable results.
- Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding assigned sales quotas.
- Deep understanding of the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to post‑sale client management (Client Success).
