Job summary

The Medical City Pangasinan is seeking a Safety Officer 2 to implement and monitor occupational safety and health programs across the hospital. You will ensure compliance with government regulations, conduct inspections, and promote a culture of safety among all staff.

You will collaborate with department leaders, report to the Human Resources Department, and lead safety training, incident investigations, and risk assessments to maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or related field with OSH background.
• DOLE- accredited Safety Officer 2 (SO2) required and BOSH/COSH trainings completed.
• Experience in safety management, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement safety programs and OSHS initiatives in line with regulations.

Job description

The Medical City Pangasinan is searching for a Safety Officer. This role will be responsible for implementing and monitoring occupational safety and health programs, ensuring compliance with government regulations, conducting safety inspections, and promoting a culture of safety across the organization. You’ll be a key partner to department leaders and employees in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. This role reports directly to the Human Resources Manager of the Human Resources Department.

What's The Role All About?

Job responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Implement safety programs: Oversee the execution of occupational safety and health initiatives in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure regulatory compliance: Monitor compliance with DOLE Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS) and ensure timely submission of required reports and documentation.
• Conduct safety inspections: Perform regular workplace inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Lead safety training: Organize and facilitate safety orientations, emergency preparedness programs, drills, and awareness campaigns for employees.
• Investigate incidents: Conduct accident and incident investigations, recommend corrective actions, and monitor implementation of preventive measures.

Who Are We Looking For?

An effective Safety Officer 2 must possess the following skills:

• A graduate of Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field; Engineer preferred.
• Has relevant experience in occupational safety and health, workplace compliance, and risk management.
• Strong knowledge of DOLE Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS), workplace safety regulations, and emergency response procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to conduct training and engage stakeholders across all levels.
• A structured thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a commitment to fostering a safe work environment.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Ideally, a candidate must be a graduate of Engineering, Occupational Safety, or a related field. Must be a DOLE-accredited Safety Officer 2 (SO2) and have completed the mandatory 40-hour Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) and Construction Occupational Safety and Health (COSH) Trainings.
