Job summary

First Balfour, Inc. is seeking a Safety Lead to oversee HSE programs across a major project in a highly urbanized setting.

You will ensure compliance with safety laws, conduct risk assessments, and lead incident investigations while promoting a strong safety culture among on-site teams. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, with 10+ years in construction and at least 4 years in a similar safety lead role, preferably with bridge or large infrastructure exposure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of total work experience in construction or related industries.
  • At least 4 years of experience in a similar Safety/Safety Lead position.
  • Experience in bridge projects or similar infrastructure projects (roads, expressways, railways, viaducts, ports).
  • Experience working in a highly urbanized environment.
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety practices, HSE standards, and applicable safety regulations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant DOLE/OSH certifications and credentials are an advantage.

  • Lead the investigation of accidents, incidents, near misses, and other safety-related concerns.
  • Conduct and facilitate toolbox meetings, safety orientations, trainings, and other HSE awareness programs.
  • Monitor the safety performance of employees, contractors, and other project personnel.
  • Coordinate closely with Project Management and other stakeholders to address safety concerns and continuously improve HSE performance.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to established HSE standards throughout project operations.
