Job summary

Cloud Accountant Staffing - Careers is seeking a US Accountant based in the Philippines for a full-time, exclusive independent contractor role. You’ll own the close, manage AP/AR, payroll, and reconciliations, and ship reporting with clear commentary for US clients.

The role requires 3+ years US accounting experience, QuickBooks Online proficiency, and strong English communication. You’ll work remotely with US hours, use Xero/Bill.com as needed, and have an equipment provision plus 15 days PTO

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of US accounting/bookkeeping experience in public practice or industry.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online with clean, documented workflows.
• Experience or openness to Xero, Bill.com, and standard BI/reporting tools.
• Strong written and spoken English with client-facing communication.

Responsibilities

• Own the close process and manage AP/AR, payroll, and reconciliations.
• Produce timely balance sheets, P&Ls, and cash-flow statements with variance analysis.
• Translate financials for US-based clients and flag risks/opportunities.
• Manage books end-to-end: journal entries, accruals, and GL.
• Reconcile bank, credit card, merchant, and loan accounts; resolve discrepancies.
• Develop SOPs, checklists, and SOP-driven improvements including automation.
• Run payroll accurately, coordinate approvals, and ensure on-time processing.
• Maintain audit-ready files and robust data quality controls.
