Job summary

Genesis Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is seeking a remote Patient Service Specialist to answer inquiries, register new patients, schedule and verify appointments, and route messages in Epic. The role emphasizes accurate data entry, professional communication, and efficient patient support.

Candidates should have at least 1 year of direct customer service experience, preferably in healthcare, with strong English communication, listening, and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1 year direct customer service experience, preferably in a medical facility.
• Call center experience preferred.
• Six months appointment scheduling experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and health insurance guidelines is helpful.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in English with good spelling and grammar.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming lines and assist patients, referring physicians' offices, and other patient support agencies.
• Register new patients and update demographics, schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments.
• Verify patient insurance and route messages to the appropriate Epic pool.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality with a high volume of calls.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve Call Center and organizational goals.
