Top VA Business Support Services is seeking a remote production operations lead to own the end-to-end coordination of production in a low-volume, high-detail environment. You will convert orders to detailed work plans, manage inventory, and drive schedules across time zones.

The role emphasizes proactive problem solving, cross-team collaboration, and strong English communication to align with shop hours and customer needs.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in production management or manufacturing operations, ideally in a custom or made-to-order environment.
• Proven experience managing teams or operations remotely.
• Strong data and systems orientation — comfortable building and refining tracking spreadsheets, inventory systems, and scheduling tools from scratch.
• Experience with inventory management and purchasing, including understanding of lead times, reorder points, and cost control.
• Demonstrated ability to direct and coordinate through others without in-person supervision.
• A proactive mindset — identifying problems and proposing better ways of doing things.
• Comfortable using AI tools and modern software to work efficiently.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Comfort working across time zones or flexible hours as needed to align with shop operating hours.

Responsibilities

• Convert incoming sales orders into detailed work orders, coordinating directly with the sales team on specs and timelines.
• Track jobs from intake through install-ready status, flagging material shortages or production bottlenecks before they affect the shop floor.
• Build and maintain a digital inventory tracking system, monitoring reorder points and keeping records accurate.
• Build and maintain a production schedule at least one week ahead, coordinating closely with the on-site production lead.
• Maintain a live production and sales tracking system, and continuously refine production time benchmarks.
• Review and approve staff time records using camera and time-clock systems.
• Manage material purchasing, including annual bulk material orders and smaller recurring purchases.
• Direct the on-site production lead on daily priorities and production targets.
• Book home installations and coordinate customer repair requests.
