Job summary

UpCounting is seeking a remote, full-cycle bookkeeper to manage a portfolio of ecommerce client files with 39 hours per week aligned to EST hours. You will handle reconciliations, A/P, A/R, journal entries, and month-end close for multiple brands with strict deadlines.

You will review work with an accounting manager and ensure timely, accurate filings, including sales tax across jurisdictions. Prior QBO/Xero and ClickUp experience is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in accounting or bookkeeping in a firm, BPO, or international multi-client environment.
• Multiple clients across separate books with deadlines and stakeholders.
• Full cycle bookkeeping: reconciliations, A/P, A/R, journal entries, accruals and prepaids.
• Worked to a month-end close with fixed deadlines.
• QuickBooks Online or Xero experience; onboarding certification funded if needed.
• Follow written instructions precisely and without reminders.
• Experience working with clients outside your country, ideally US/Canada/UK/Australia.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• eCommerce or consumer goods clients; Inventory and COGS; Sales tax and multi-jurisdiction compliance.
• ClickUp or similar project management tools.

Responsibilities

• Full-cycle bookkeeping across a portfolio of client files.
• Support month-end close with reconciliations, schedules, and working papers.
• Record payroll entries, prepaids, and accruals accurately.
• Prepare sales tax filings and remittances.
• Check your own work before it goes to review; catching errors is part of the job.
• Raise discrepancies clearly and early, with what you have checked.
• Act on review notes fully and on time, including unitemised ones.
