Job summary

Go Lean Health in the United States seeks a Back-Office Insurance & Prior Authorization Virtual Medical Assistant to support a nonprofit behavioral health organization.

This remote, 30-hour/week role pays $5–$6 per hour and focuses on insurance verification, authorizations, enrollment support, and back-office processes to move patients toward care.

You will update AdvancedMD records, coordinate with front-desk staff, assist with credentialing, and help develop SOPs to improve turnaround times.

Qualifications

• Experience with insurance verification and prior authorizations.
• Experience using US commercial insurance plans and Medicaid.
• Experience using payer portals.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
• Experience with an EHR or practice-management system.
• Strong administrative documentation and data-entry skills.
• Professional verbal and written English communication.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple pending cases.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient eligibility and applicable benefits with commercial insurance plans and Medicaid.
• Review payer information and document verification results in AdvancedMD and clinic systems.
• Identify insurance requirements, coverage issues, or missing information for enrollment.
