Job summary

Career Team is seeking a senior leader to head Global Payroll and US Tax Compliance from the Philippines. You will guide a PH-based payroll team, own end-to-end payroll across 15+ US states, and serve as the primary advisor on multi-state tax compliance for a US-based organization.

You will collaborate with HR and Finance leadership, report to the VP of HR, and ensure accurate, timely payroll and tax filings while driving automation and scalable processes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of US multi-state payroll experience, including 3+ years in leadership.
• Experience building, structuring, or scaling a Philippines-based payroll team.
• Deep expertise in US multi-state tax compliance (SUTA/FUTA, FICA, W-2/W-3, state nexus).
• Advanced Excel skills: Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, Macros, Power Query.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, able to translate complex tax topics for US-based stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Comfort and commitment working 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM PHST to align with US hours

Responsibilities

• Lead a Philippines-based payroll team and scale a high-performance function.
• Oversee end-to-end payroll across 15+ US states and resolve complex tax issues.
• Manage multi-state tax compliance including SUTA/FUTA, FICA, W-2/W-3, nexus.
• Own payroll systems like ADP Workforce Now for integrity and optimization.
• Register new state tax IDs and oversee compliance across the US footprint.
• Lead responses to tax notices, garnishments, and year-end reconciliations.
• Provide executive payroll and compliance reporting to the C-suite.
• Drive process improvements toward automated, scalable operations
