Job summary

Thrivemodal is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee accounting and financial operations for a remote role. You will manage day-to-day finance, lead month-end close, and ensure accurate reporting for the US-based entity with GAAP guidance.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in accounting/finance for US companies, CPA or equivalent, and a proven ability to work independently with senior leadership. Remote setup offers USD salary and direct exposure to the US leadership team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting or financial management experience supporting US based companies.
• Experience as Financial Controller, Accounting Manager, Finance Manager, or equivalent.
• Experience in financial services, lending, or insurance financing.
• Hands-on end-to-end accounting operations management.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Experience with monthly close, financial reporting, reconciliations, AP/AR, and cash flow management.
• Experience budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Experience partnering with CEO/CFO or senior leadership.
• Experience with external audits and tax compliance.
• Familiarity with HR/payroll and general office administration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and collections
• Lead the monthly financial close with journal entries and reconciliations
• Prepare and review financial statements and management reports
• Monitor cash flow and working capital
• Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, banks, and tax professionals
• Provide financial analysis and insights to CEO/CFO and senior leadership
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records
