Job summary

Staffstream is recruiting a Financial Accountant to join a growing Australian facilities services business. The role sits in the finance team, ensuring accurate reporting and statutory compliance, including payroll oversight, with close collaboration to the CFO.

The position is open to Philippines-based candidates and is fully remote, operating Australian business hours. You will manage statutory reports, prepare management accounts, and supervise junior finance staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience as Financial Accountant, including statutory statements.
• Finance or accounting degree with CPA or CA progression.
• Advanced, hands-on Xero proficiency is essential.
• Solid knowledge of Australian accounting standards, GST, and FBT.
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience in finance/payroll.
• Ability to carry out multi-entity reconciliations.
• Strong communication across management levels and stakeholders.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical planning.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, P&L, balance sheets, and divisional reports.
• Conduct month-end analytical reviews ahead of CFO discussions.
• Prepare BAS and PAYG instalments for the group.
• Ensure reporting accuracy under Australian Accounting Standards.
• Provide financial advice and practical recommendations on operations.
• Produce special reports, variances, budgets, and forecasts.
• Maintain and improve the finance IT systems to meet needs.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Provide ad hoc support to the CFO and oversee payroll-related work.
