Job summary

Sharesource is seeking an experienced Accountant to support month-end closing, financial reporting, payroll, and day-to-day accounting. The role emphasizes Australian accounting standards, GST, BAS, and accurate general ledger management.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5+ years of relevant experience, a accounting/finance degree, and advanced Excel skills, with proficiency in Xero. This role is remote with local Philippines-based residency required.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of accounting experience in a similar role.
• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Experience with month-end close, general ledger, reconciliations, and analysis.
• Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards, GST, BAS, and taxation.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end closing and financial reporting processes.
• Prepare and review journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.
• Prepare and analyse monthly financial and management reports.
• Review revenue, expenditure, and balance sheet movements; explain variances.
• Monitor cash flow and assist with forecasting and planning.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Provide financial information to support management decisions.
• Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
• Perform and review bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Process fortnightly payroll and payroll reconciliations.
• Assist with BAS, GST, year-end reporting, and statutory compliance.
• Reconcile funding and related financial transactions for home care.
• Prepare and review weekly payment batches and reimbursements.
• Maintain internal controls and supporting documentation.
• Assist external accountants, auditors, and reporting requirements.
• Identify process improvements for efficiency and automation.
• Provide guidance across the Finance function as needed.
