Lago is hiring a remote Bookkeeper to maintain accurate financial records across multiple regions. You will record transactions, reconcile accounts, and manage AP/AR while supporting payroll and monthly close processes.

The role collaborates with CPAs and finance teams to ensure compliant, clean books. Ideal candidates have 2–4 years of bookkeeping experience, proficiency in QuickBooks or Xero, and strong Excel/Sheets skills, with attention to detail and organization.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting software.
• Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles and financial transaction recording.
• Experience with bank reconciliations, AP/AR, and month-end close processes.
• High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for financial data management.

Responsibilities

• Record and categorize all financial transactions in accounting software.
• Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable entries and processing.
• Prepare and send invoices, track payments, and follow up on collections.
• Maintain an organized chart of accounts and ensure consistent categorization.
• Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Support financial documentation for audits, tax filings, or compliance.
• Process payroll entries and ensure accurate payroll-related recording.
• Maintain organized financial records for all transactions.
• Liaise with external CPAs to provide clean books at period close.
