Job summary

Sharesource is seeking an experienced Accountant to support month-end reporting, reconciliations, financial reporting, payroll, and day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate has strong Australian accounting knowledge, advanced Excel, and the ability to analyse financial data for informed decision-making.

The role involves month-end closing, GL integrity, cash flow forecasting, budgeting support, and collaboration with AP/AR.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of accounting experience
• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards, GST, BAS, and taxation requirements
• Experience with AP, AR, payroll, and general accounting functions
• Proficient in Excel and data analysis
• Proficient in Xero and other accounting systems
• Strong financial controls and reconciliation practices
• Excellent attention to detail and time management
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proactive, reliable and solutions-focused

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end closing and financial reporting processes
• Prepare and review journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations
• Maintain General Ledger accuracy and integrity
• Prepare and analyse monthly financial and management reports
• Review revenue, expenditure, balance sheet movements and variances
• Monitor cash flow and assist with forecasting and planning
• Assist with budgeting and variance analysis
• Provide financial information to assist management decisions
• Support AP/AR processes
• Perform bank reconciliations and payroll reconciliations
• Assist with BAS, GST, year-end reporting and compliance
• Reconcile funding, claims and client transactions
• Prepare weekly payment batches and expense reimbursements
• Maintain financial controls and documentation
• Assist external accountants and auditors
• Review processes for efficiency and automation
• Provide support across Finance and Accounts functions
