Job summary

Sharesource, based in the Philippines, seeks an experienced Accountant to support month-end reporting, reconciliations, financial reporting, payroll, and day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have strong Australian accounting knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to analyse financial data and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of relevant accounting experience.
• tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Experience with month-end closing, financial reporting, general ledger, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
• Strong understanding of Australian GST, BAS, and taxation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support month-end closing and financial reporting processes.
• Prepare and review journals, accruals, prepayments, and account reconciliations.
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and ensure transactions are correctly recorded.
• Prepare and analyse monthly financial and management reports.
• Review revenue, expenditure, balance sheet movements, and financial variances, providing explanations where required.
• Monitor cash flow and assist with cash flow forecasting and planning.
• Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing variance analysis.
• Provide financial information and analysis to assist management with business and financial decisions.
• Support Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.
• Perform and review bank reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Process fortnightly payroll and payroll-related reconciliations.
• Assist with BAS, GST, year-end reporting, and other statutory and financial compliance requirements.
• Reconcile home care funding, claims, client contributions, and SAH financial transactions.
• Prepare and review weekly payment batches and expense reimbursements.
• Maintain effective financial controls, procedures, and supporting documentation.
• Assist with external accountants, auditors, and other financial reporting requirements.
• Review finance processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and automation.
• Provide support and guidance across the broader Finance and Accounts function as required.
