About the role
We are seeking a Purchasing Manager to join our team in Quezon City, Metro Manila on a full-time basis. This is a strategic position within our organisation, responsible for overseeing all purchasing and procurement operations. The Purchasing Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the cost-effective acquisition of materials, goods, and services whilst maintaining quality standards and supporting the overall operational objectives of Abenson Ventures, Inc. You will report directly to senior management and have a direct impact on the company's bottom line and supplier relationships.

What you'll be doing

• Developing and implementing purchasing strategies to optimise cost savings whilst maintaining quality and delivery standards

• Managing supplier relationships and negotiations to secure competitive pricing and favourable contract terms

• Evaluating and selecting qualified suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability and performance metrics

• Overseeing the purchase order process, ensuring accuracy, timely placement and proper documentation

• Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating with logistics and operations teams to ensure material availability

• Analysing purchasing data and market trends to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction

• Ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements and ethical procurement standards

• Preparing reports and providing regular updates to management on purchasing performance, spending and supplier metrics

• Resolving supplier issues, discrepancies and disputes in a timely and professional manner

• Leading and supervising the purchasing team, including training, performance management and development

• Collaborating with cross-functional departments to understand material requirements and forecast demand

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of professional experience in purchasing, procurement or a related supply chain function

• Proven track record in supplier management, contract negotiation and cost optimisation in a manufacturing or logistics environment

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret purchasing data and market trends

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder management at all levels

• Proficiency in procurement software systems and Microsoft Office applications

• Knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices

• Demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing and developing team members

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

• Familiarity with regulatory compliance and ethical procurement standards

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)

• Professional certifications such as APICS CSCP or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) are advantageous
