Job summary

Benson Industrial Cold Storage Inc. in Parañaque City is seeking a Purchasing Associate to support procurement, ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing, and maintain inventory levels for our cold storage and logistics operations.

You will process purchase orders, liaise with suppliers, track deliveries, reconcile invoices, and contribute to cost reduction initiatives. 1–2 years in purchasing and a high school diploma (degree preferred) are desired.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; degree in Business Admin or related field preferred.
• 1–2 years in purchasing, procurement or inventory management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with suppliers and stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in processing documents.
• Basic understanding of supply chain principles and procurement best practices.

About the role

Benson Industrial Cold Storage Inc. is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Purchasing Associate to join our procurement team. This is a full-time position based in Paranaque City, Metro Manila. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our purchasing operations, ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services essential to our cold storage and logistics operations. The Purchasing Associate will work collaboratively with suppliers, internal stakeholders and management to maintain efficient inventory levels and support the seamless operation of our business.

What you\'ll be doing

As a Purchasing Associate, your key responsibilities will include:

• Processing purchase orders and maintaining accurate procurement records and documentation
• Communicating with suppliers to obtain quotations, negotiate pricing and terms, and clarify specifications
• Monitoring inventory levels and identifying procurement needs in coordination with warehouse and operations teams
• Tracking delivery schedules and following up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials and services
• Maintaining an updated supplier database and conducting vendor performance evaluations
• Assisting with invoice reconciliation and resolving discrepancies between purchase orders, delivery notes and invoices
• Supporting cost reduction initiatives by identifying opportunities for better pricing and alternative suppliers
• Preparing purchasing reports and providing data to support management decision-making
• Ensuring compliance with company procurement policies and procedures
• Liaising with other departments to understand requirements and ensure timely procurement of necessary items

What we\'re looking for

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills, qualifications and experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field is preferred
• 1-2 years of experience in a purchasing, procurement or inventory management role, or equivalent experience in a related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and familiarity with procurement or inventory management software
• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Attention to detail and accuracy in processing documentation and data entry
• Basic understanding of supply chain principles and procurement best practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of manufacturing, transport and logistics operations is advantageous
• Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving procurement issues
