Job summary

Pulse is seeking a Proposal Manager to lead end-to-end RFP responses for US organizations, from review through submission and feedback tracking. You will build checklists, research client needs, and tailor proposals using our content library and AI tools, ensuring accuracy and brand consistency.

Qualifications

Pulse is a US-based design and growth marketing agency expanding into contracts with US organizations, including schools, cities, and public agencies. We are looking for someone to lead our proposal process, managing the end-to-end workflow from RFP review through submission and feedback tracking.

Key responsibilities

• Review new US RFPs ("Requests for Proposals") and score them against fit criteria

• Read each RFP carefully and build a checklist of every requirement, form, deadline, and formatting rule

• Research each organization: their current brand, website, goals, past vendors, and budget signals

• Write tailored proposals using our content library and AI tools, then edit them until they're clear, specific, and error-free

• Format proposals so they look polished and on-brand

• Manage 5-10 active proposals at once and get inputs from our team well ahead of each deadline

• Track every submission, result, and piece of buyer feedback

• Keep our library of case studies, bios, and standard responses up to date

About you

• Excellent written English (most important requirement)

• 3+ years in a role that required precise writing and close reading of complex documents (examples: proposal or tender writing, grant writing, communications, PR, marketing, technical writing, legal or paralegal work, procurement, pre-sales, research, journalism, or compliance documentation)

• Extremely detail-oriented; missing one requirement can get a proposal disqualified

• Strong researcher who can quickly understand an organization and what it needs

• Comfortable using ChatGPT, Claude, or similar tools to draft, then editing heavily

• Organized with deadlines and able to work independently

• Available for at least 4 hours of overlap with US Eastern Time
