Job summary

Zenobuild&Co. Construction Services in the Philippines is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to manage day-to-day construction activities, maintain schedules, coordinate with site teams, and ensure adherence to drawings and specifications.

You will lead site coordinators, monitor progress, prepare recovery plans, and liaise with design teams and QA/QC to resolve issues, while ensuring safety and quality on projects in Bulacan and nearby locations.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of BS Civil Engineering.
  • Licensed Civil Engineer preferred.
  • Construction-site or project management experience preferred.
  • Freshly licensed engineers with strong site experience and leadership potential may be considered.
  • Able to read and interpret architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing drawings.
  • Good understanding of construction methods, sequencing, materials, manpower, and site operations.
  • Able to prepare and maintain construction schedules and Gantt charts.
  • Familiarity with quantity takeoff, project costing, progress billing, and construction documentation is an advantage.
  • Proficient in Excel / Google Sheets and digital project-management and documentation systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, leadership, and coordination skills.
  • Able to communicate with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, foremen, and workers.
  • Willing to travel and be assigned to projects in Pampanga, Bulacan, and other ZEO NORTH project locations.
  • Organized, decisive, accountable, and capable of handling multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Take primary responsibility for the day-to-day management and execution of assigned construction projects.
  • Prepare, maintain, and regularly update the Project Construction Program / Gantt Chart, including activities, sequencing, durations, milestones, and dependencies.
  • Plan manpower, subcontractor, equipment, material, and procurement requirements based on the construction schedule.
  • Monitor actual progress against the approved project schedule and identify delays or potential delays early.
  • Prepare and implement recovery plans when project activities fall behind schedule.
  • Direct and supervise assigned Site Coordinators and coordinate with foremen, subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and verify that works follow approved drawings, specifications, and construction requirements.
  • Coordinate with the QA/QC & Warranty Officer regarding inspections, NCRs, punchlists, corrective works, and quality concerns.
  • Identify technical conflicts and prepare or coordinate RFIs when clarification is required.
  • Coordinate technical issues with the Design Team and allied professionals through approved Company procedures.
  • Determine upcoming material requirements and submit Material Requests early enough to avoid work interruption.
  • Coordinate procurement requirements with the Procurement Officer and verify requested materials, quantities, specifications, and required delivery dates.
  • Coordinate with the Cost Control Officer regarding project allowable expenses, budget status, and cost-related concerns.
  • Monitor project resources and help prevent unnecessary wastage, excessive consumption, and avoidable project expenses.
  • Prepare and submit requests for project petty cash and other authorized site requirements.
  • Review and verify site reports, manpower records, deliveries, accomplishments, and documentation prepared by Site Coordinators.
  • Maintain complete and updated project records, including drawings, reports, RFIs, instructions, progress pictures, and inspection records.
  • Prepare project accomplishment information and progress billing requirements for Management and QS review.
  • Assist in validating quantities and actual accomplishments required for project billing.
  • Attend project meetings and provide accurate updates on progress, schedule, materials, manpower, quality, and outstanding issues.
  • Address client concerns and queries regarding the project and provide appropriate updates within delegated authority.
  • Document and elevate client requests involving design changes, additional works, variations, cost implications, or contractual schedule changes.
  • Do not commit the Company to unapproved additional work, pricing, scope changes, or contractual commitments.
  • Coordinate approved variation works and ensure proper documentation before execution.
  • Monitor project safety requirements and immediately report or act on unsafe conditions within delegated authority.
  • Lead project punchlisting, rectification, completion, and turnover activities together with QA/QC and the project team.
  • Prepare and organize required turnover documents and assist clients with project turnover documentation and requirements.
  • Serves as the primary technical point of contact for construction-related concerns on the assigned project.
  • Escalate significant schedule, cost, quality, safety, contractual, technical, subcontractor, or client issues to the CEO.

The Project Engineer is responsible for the schedule component of the Cost-Loaded Project Program. The PE prepares the construction activities, WBS, sequencing, durations, milestones, manpower requirements, material requirements, and Gantt schedule.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of BS Civil Engineering.

  • Licensed Civil Engineer preferred.

  • Construction-site or project management experience preferred.

  • Freshly licensed engineers with strong site experience and leadership potential may be considered.
