About the role
The Site Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day technical and engineering execution of assigned construction works, ensuring that activities are completed according to the approved plans, specifications, schedule, quality standards, safety requirements, quantities, and project budget. The Site Engineer serves as the primary technical link between the Project Manager, consultants, subcontractors, foremen, suppliers, QA/QC personnel, Safety Officers, Quantity Surveyors, and workers at the project site. The position is accountable for translating approved drawings and specifications into actual site execution, monitoring work progress, resolving technical issues, coordinating resources, checking quantities and workmanship, maintaining site records, and escalating risks that may affect cost, quality, schedule, safety, or client satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure assigned works are properly executed according to approved plans, specifications, schedule, and method statements
- Ensure assigned work activities achieve planned daily and weekly production targets
- Ensure construction work meets approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and inspection requirements
- Resolve or upscale technical issues that may affect construction progress
- Coordinate with Project Management, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Logistics to ensure required materials are available before scheduled activities
- Monitor manpower deployment and productivity against planned requirements
- Monitor subcontractor performance, quality, productivity, and compliance
- Maintain accurate daily reports, inspection records, measurements, photographs, and technical documentation
- Ensure assigned work activities are performed in accordance with project safety requirements
- Ensure assigned work areas are completed, inspected, corrected, and ready for turnover
About you
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline applicable to the assigned project
- Licensed Civil Engineer (PRC)
- At least 3-5 years of construction/site engineering experience
- Sufficient technical knowledge of building construction, roads, and site operations
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam/Revue, SketchUp, Revit, BIM platforms, and project management/ERP systems
- Knowledge of construction methods, structural works, concrete works, rebar/formwork, construction surveying, construction scheduling, material inspection, MEPF coordination, site measurement, progress monitoring, technical problem-solving, and subcontractor coordination
- Willing to work at project sites
- Willing to work extended hours when project requirements demand
- Willing to relocate or be assigned to different project locations
- Able to work in outdoor and physically demanding construction environments
