AsiaPeopleSearch Inc. seeks a Procurement and Purchasing Manager (Manufacturing) for our Quezon City operations. We are seeking a Procurement and Purchasing Manager (Manufacturing) to join our team in Quezon City, Metro Manila on a full-time basis. This is a strategic position within our organisation, responsible for overseeing all aspects of procurement and purchasing operations for our manufacturing division. You will play a crucial role in optimising our supply chain, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring cost-effective procurement practices that directly contribute to the company's profitability and operational success. This role requires someone with proven expertise in manufacturing procurement who can lead a dynamic team and drive continuous improvement across our purchasing function.
Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with manufacturing operations and business objectives
Manage the complete procurement cycle, including sourcing, supplier evaluation, negotiation, and contract management
Oversee inventory management processes to ensure optimal stock levels while minimising carrying costs
Lead and supervise the procurement team, providing guidance, training and performance management
Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conducting due diligence and maintaining a qualified vendor database
Negotiate commercial terms, pricing and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve best value for money
Monitor supplier performance against agreed service level agreements and quality standards
Manage purchase orders, expedite deliveries and resolve supply chain disruptions
Analyse procurement data and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements
Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements and ethical procurement standards
Collaborate with manufacturing, production and finance teams to understand requirements and support operational needs
Prepare regular procurement reports and provide insights to senior management
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement or related field
Minimum 7-10 years of procurement and purchasing experience, with at least 5 years in a manufacturing environment
Proven track record in supplier management and vendor relationship development
Strong negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to achieve cost reductions and improved terms
Experience with procurement systems, ERP software and inventory management tools
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel for data analysis
Knowledge of supply chain best practices, lean procurement and continuous improvement methodologies
Demonstrated experience in team leadership and staff development
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work cross-functionally
Understanding of manufacturing processes and material requirements planning
Professional certification such as APICS CPIM, CSCP or equivalent procurement qualification is advantageous
