JOB OVERVIEW
The Planning Specialist is responsible for supporting the development, monitoring , and updating of project schedules for the Pumped Storage Project. The role provides hands-on planning and scheduling support at site, ensuring that construction activities, milestones, progress updates, and reporting requirements are properly tracked and coordinated with project teams and contractors.
The position works closely with the Site Project Team , Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Cost Control, and contractors to gather progress data, validate work status , identify schedule concerns , and support timely corrective actions to keep site activities aligned with approved plans and project targets .
THE ROLE
- Support the preparation, updating, and monitoring of site construction schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project, or other approved planning tools.
- Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, contractors, and project controls teams to collect accurate progress updates and activity status.
- Track actual progress against approved baseline and look-ahead schedules, highlighting delays, slippages, and potential schedule risks.
- Assist in preparing weekly and monthly site progress reports, planning updates, dashboards, and supporting presentation materials.
- Maintain short-term look-ahead schedules and coordinate required updates with relevant site teams and contractors.
- Support validation of schedule logic, activity sequencing, milestone tracking, resource requirements, and contractor submissions.
- Assist in identifying schedule constraints, interface issues, and site execution concerns affecting project timelines.
- Prepare progress measurement inputs and coordinate with Cost Control for performance tracking and reporting requirements.
- Attend site planning meetings, progress reviews, coordination meetings, and contractor discussions as required.
- Maintain organized planning records, schedule updates, progress data, and supporting documents for project reference and audit purposes.
- Support change management by providing schedule-related inputs for scope changes, variations, and site instructions.
- Ensure planning activities comply with project controls procedures, reporting standards, and site requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in project planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring for infrastructure, energy, industrial, or construction projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline; equivalent relevant experience may also be considered.
- Hands-on experience using Primavera P6, MS Project, and Microsoft Excel for schedule updates, progress tracking, and reporting.
- Experience working on site-based construction or project execution environments is required.
- Experience in hydropower, renewable energy, power generation, heavy civil works, or other major capital projects is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of baseline schedules, look-ahead planning, progress measurement, milestone tracking, and schedule variance reporting.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to validate progress data from multiple site stakeholders.
- Good coordination and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with site teams, contractors, and project controls personnel.
- Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage shifting site priorities and reporting deadlines.
- Willing to be assigned full-time at the project site in Rizal or Laguna.
- Professional planning, scheduling, or project management certification is an advantage but not required.
