Job summary

PAMOCOR Group of Companies is seeking a seasoned Planning Engineer in the Philippines to lead project scheduling, progress control, and risk management for construction initiatives. You will develop baselines, assign resources, monitor performance, and report progress to executives.

Based in Mandaue with regular site visits, you will collaborate with procurement, engineering, and project teams to ensure timely delivery and compliance with contractual milestones.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) required.
  • 5–8 years of experience in project planning, scheduling, and progress control in construction.
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequences, and project control principles.
  • Strong analytical, leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication for cross-department coordination.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Office-based with regular site visits for field progress audits.
  • Extended working hours may be required to meet critical deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop baseline project schedules, WBS, and resource loading using Primavera P6 and MS Project.
  • Establish look-ahead schedules and align milestones with contracts.
  • Monitor progress against baselines and perform EVM analysis.
  • Identify variances, critical path delays, and bottlenecks; implement recovery plans.
  • Optimize resource planning (manpower, equipment, materials) for site efficiency.
  • Coordinate with Procurement and Office Engineering on purchases and deliveries.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and executive progress reports, dashboards, and S-curves.
  • Lead planning and progress review meetings with PMs, engineers, subs, and clients.
  • Evaluate risks and time-impact analyses for variation orders and delay logs.

About the role

The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing and monitoring project schedules, tracking progress and resources, managing risks, and ensuring construction projects are completed on time.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive baseline project schedules, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), and resource/cost loading using Primavera P6 and MS Project.
  • Establish look-ahead schedules (weekly/monthly) and align project milestones with contractual commitments
  • Monitor project progress against baseline schedules and conduct Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis.
  • Identify schedule variances, critical path delays, and bottleneck risks; proactively develop and implement corrective/recovery plans.
  • Optimize resource planning (manpower, equipment, materials) to ensure efficient site utilization.
  • Coordinate closely with Procurement and Office Engineering to align purchase requests, material deliveries, and subcontractor schedules with project milestones.
  • Prepare and present detailed weekly, monthly, and executive progress reports, dashboards, and S-curves.
  • Lead planning and progress review meetings with Project Managers, Engineers, Subcontractors, and Clients.
  • Evaluate project risks, analyze time-impact analyses (TIA) for variation orders, and assist in maintaining project delay logs for contractual documentation.
About you
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in project planning, scheduling, and progress control within the construction industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Excel (advanced formulas, data analysis).
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequence of operations, and project control principles.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-departmental coordination.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and manage tight project deadlines.
  • Primarily office-based with regular site visits to conduct field progress audits.
  • May require extended working hours to meet critical project submission deadlines.
