About the role
The Supply Chain Assistant / Planner supports the planning and coordination of production activities to ensure that manufacturing schedules are aligned with customer demand, material availability, machine capacity, and delivery requirements. The position works closely with Production, Procurement, Warehouse, Sales, Quality Control, and Logistics to maintain an efficient flow of materials and production activities while minimizing delays, shortages, and excess inventory.
Key responsibilities
Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and long-term production schedules based on demand forecasts, customer requirements, and available machine capacity.
Coordinate production priorities and ensure schedules are communicated clearly to the relevant departments.
Monitor production progress against the approved schedule and identify potential delays or capacity constraints.
Update production plans as required based on changing business and operational requirements.
Coordinate with Procurement and Warehouse to monitor raw material availability and ensure required materials are available according to the production schedule.
Monitor inventory levels to help prevent material shortages, production interruptions, and excess inventory.
Consider supplier lead times and shipping schedules when preparing production plans and coordinate with relevant teams to align production completion with finished-goods delivery requirements.
Adjust production plans when unexpected situations occur, such as machine or equipment breakdowns, labor constraints, material shortages, supplier delivery delays, or changes in production priorities.
Work closely with Sales, Procurement, Warehouse, Quality Control, Production Supervisors, and Logistics to maintain clear and timely communication regarding production schedules, material requirements, and changes in priorities.
Maintain accurate production planning and scheduling records and prepare regular planning reports and updates for management.
About you
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
3-5+ years of experience in manufacturing, production planning, supply chain, logistics, or inventory control.
Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
Experience with ERP/MRP software such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar systems.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills for planning, monitoring, and reporting.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
