Job summary

Metro Pacific Tollways seeks personnel to monitor and respond to incidents on the expressway, ensuring safety and rapid disruption management. The role involves traffic control at incident sites, liaising with emergency responders, and guiding distressed motorists according to established procedures.

The candidate will interview witnesses, collect scene data, photograph damage, and compile accident statistics for reporting to the Traffic Control Room Team Leader.

Responsibilities

• Patrols the expressway and promptly responds to incidents reported by Traffic Control Specialist.
• Responds to traffic accidents including non-injury, injury, and fatality cases and assesses impact on operations.
• Ensures expressway safety and minimizes disruption by rapid incident response and implementing temporary signage and traffic management.
• Maintains safety of the travelling public and on-site personnel through traffic management at incident sites; liaises with emergency response teams for medical attention.
• Aids distressed motorists for minor breakdowns and assists motorists following established procedures.
• Communicates with Traffic Control Room Team Leader to provide up-to-date traffic condition information.
• Interviews drivers and witnesses, records information, and ensures drivers exchange contact details.
• Gathers and analyzes information from witnesses to determine causes and corrective measures, including measurements and scene evidence.
• Records and photographs damaged roadway furniture or equipment and marks the scene to identify vehicles or drivers at fault.
• Compiles statistical information on each accident and submits to the Traffic Control Room Team Leader.

Job description

1. 1.Patrols the entire expressway and actively monitors and responds to incidents that may be observed or reported by the Traffic Control Specialist.
2. 2.Responds to traffic related accidents in the expressway and investigates non-injury, injury and/or fatality including those that resulted in damage to company property.
3. 3.Ensures that the expressway is safe and disruptions to traffic is minimized by providing rapid and effective response in the any incident and implements temporary signages and traffic management work.
4. 4.Ensures the safety of the travelling public and "on-site" personnel by providing traffic management at the incident site. Liaise with emergency response team for immediate medical attention and incident response team for the removal of any obstructions.
5. 5.Aids distressed motorists for minor mechanical breakdown and assists motorist in the event of an accident or incident based on established procedures.
6. 6.Communicates regularly with the Traffic Control Room Team Leader to provide up to date information on the traffic condition in the expressway.
7. 7.Interviews drivers involved and witnesses at the traffic accident scene and takes note each information obtained and ensures that the drivers involved in the incident shall exchange and ensures that the drivers involved in the incident shall exchange contact information.
8. 8.Gathers and analyzes all pertinent information relating to traffic accidents including information obtained from witnesses to determine the cause of the accident, effect in the operations, corrective measures to mitigate the effect in operations and mitigating measures to prevent recurrence. Information shall include measurements by use of tape measures or other measuring devices, and will include position of vehicles on roadway, position of bodies, location and length of skid marks, width and lane divisions on roadway, signs of maximum engagement, roadway defects and gouges, locations of obstructions and any other pertinent evidence found.
9. 9.Records and takes picture of damaged roadway furniture or equipment as a result from the self -accident or from the collision and checks the incident scene for any marking or object that will be used as a reference, and which will assist in determining the cause of the accident or identify the vehicle or drivers at fault.
10. 10.Compiles statistical information on each accident and submits to the Traffic Control Room Team Leader.
