Job summary

Remote Staff, Inc. is seeking a part-time Bookkeeper/Accountant to support Australian clients from a remote, work-from-home setup. The role covers daily bookkeeping, reconciliations, payroll, and tax returns, using Xero and QuickBooks.

Qualifications

CPA qualification is strongly preferred.
Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and tax preparation.
Strong knowledge of Australian accounting and taxation practices.
Hands-on experience with Xero and QuickBooks.
Experience with tax return preparation.
Bank reconciliations and payroll understanding.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting tasks.
Prepare and process bank reconciliations.
Handle payroll processing and related accounting tasks.
Prepare and assist with tax returns, including company and property tax returns.
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
Support clients across various industries.
Work with Xero and QuickBooks for accounting activities.
Use Logit for tax return preparation and BGL for super fund accounting, where applicable.
Draft professional email correspondence and respond to client queries.
Ensure accounting and tax work is accurate and completed within deadlines.
Work closely with the Senior Accountant and firm management on assigned tasks.
